She and her family (Team 5 Morris) moved to the slums of Uganda two and a half years ago to church plant. We'll hear all about their adventures.

Joan is a best selling author of over 40 books in the ABA (secular book market) who decided to switch gears when God miraculously healed her from a long-time illness. Her book A Reluctant Queen is fresh interpretation of the story of Esther and is receiving wonderful reviews. The second half hour will focus on Catherine Richmond. Catherine was busy as a wife, mom and occupational therapist when an old song by Harry Chapin planted a story in her heart that wouldn't remain untold. I'm so excited to chat with this week's guest, Helen Lee. Helen's book, The Missional Mom addresses how to balance our roles within our home as well as using our talents for His Kingdom. Helen's book affirms Christian mothers who desire to not only to build their homes in a Christ-like way, but engage the world with their skills, abilities, and interests. It doesn't minimize the importance of a woman's role in her home but encourages us to not ignore the stirrings God has planted within our hearts to extend her influence. This will be a great show!

If you've ever struggled with sharing your faith (or struggled with people trying to tell you about Jesus) you won't want to miss Tim Sinclair on Thursday. Tim is a radio personality on one of the top Christian morning shows in the country, Mornings with Tim and Pam. And now he is an author. His first book, Branded: Sharing Jesus with a Consumer Culture, was just published by Kregel. In the book, Tim points out that the church has been commissioned to go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. To that end, the church spends $1.5 million for every one new follower of Jesus. Yet Apple can sell 26 iPads every minute. Branded is Tim's first hand observations about what makes Apple so exciting and Jesus so boring. In a word: marketing. Jesus is a life-changing product with lousy sales-people who are intimidated and embarrassed by the word "evangelism" and who show more enthusiasm for their gadgets than their God. Good stuff. I look forward to hearing what Tim has to say.

The world has overlooked and/or seriously underestimated the grief a mother incurs when she places her child for adoption, but God holds these women dear to His heart and His desire is for them to know and understand that fact. Adoption agencies across the country offer post-adoption counseling but many women are too heartbroken to continue the counseling once they give birth. Cynthia is the author of Restorative Grief, and she understands all too well as she also is a birthmother that was too heartbroken to continue counseling. She decided instead to ask Jesus to walk her through it, to be her all-knowing Counselor. While her pain was at some points unbearable, with God, she emerged on the other side of adoption more complete than she had ever been.

Angela Harris is the author of "Dance in the Rain: His Joy Comes in the Mourning" - a journal and bible study on death and dying. Angela's testimony is a powerful tribute to the redemption God offers us and the forgiveness that frees us. She was born with a birth defect called Spina Bifida. Dr's doubted she would live,let alone walk, talk, or have a normal life. She also suffered physical and sexual abuse during her childhood by her outwardly appearing "Christian, Church-attending" family. By God's mercy she came to know the true saving grace of Jesus as a young adult trying to comprehend her difficult situation. Despite the dire medical predictions and an abusive past, God has blessed her with a full life. Today she possesses both physical and mental health, as well as a wonderful husband and two children whom she was told she'd never have.

I'm so excited about our guest this week. Kim is an amazing woman whose family was featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Kim is also an author and she and her teen-age daughter, Kayla, just landed a writing contract for a series of books they will co-write together. Cool!
