About Cec and Twila

Cecil Murphey
Award-winning author and international speaker Cecil (Cec) Murphey has written or co-written more than one hundred books, including the New York Times' bestseller 90 Minutes in Heaven (with Don Piper) and Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story (with Dr. Ben Carson). His books have sold millions of copies, have been translated into more than 40 languages, and have brought hope and encouragement to countless people around the world.

His newest releases are Hope and Comfort for Every Season (#119) and When a Man You Love Was Abused: A Woman's Guide to Helping Him Overcome Childhood Sexual Molestation. At this time he has five books scheduled for release in 2011.

Many words have been used to describe Cecil Murphey. Among them are mentor, encourager, life-changer, giver, caring, compassionate, transparent, and friend. Cec says, "When I write, I want to reach out and hug my readers." He is known for his physical, spiritual, and emotional hugs as well.

Cec stays busy as a professional writer and travels extensively to speak on many topics such as male sexual abuse, recovery, spiritual growth, prayer, caregiving, significant living, and writing.

Prior to launching his career as a full-time writer and speaker, Cec served as pastor of Riverdale Presbyterian Church in Metro Atlanta, as a volunteer hospital chaplain for ten years, and was a missionary in Kenya for six.

Twila Belk
To some she's known as Twila Belk, but to others she's known as the Gotta Tell Somebody Gal. She loves to talk, especially about her Lord. Whether she's speaking, writing, or teaching, her desire is to offer hope and encouragement for people to get their eyes fixed on Almighty God.

Twila is a Christian communicator. She loves to laugh and to encourage laughter. But even more than that, she loves to help people discover who God is and how big God is and to prove that He can be trusted. She has lots and lots of proof of God's faithfulness and goodness, and she's just gotta tell somebody!

The Gotta Tell Somebody Gal's mission is to do whatever she can to make God famous. That includes being a champion and promoter for others who have a message of hope and encouragement, one that points people to God. She's a cheerleader and coach for other writers and speakers, and she's the director of two writers conferences.

Twila is delighted to have the opportunity of working with bestselling author Cecil Murphey as his manager, assistant, scheduler, promoter, marketing director, publicist, events coordinator, and biggest fan. She claims her true title should be Executive Director of the Cecil Murphey Empire, but Cec usually just calls her Mother. She tries hard to keep him in line and to make him look good.

Twila's background includes a broad variety of positions-from being a journeyman machinist and spec writer to owning a Christian bookstore and medical transcribing for a group of neurosurgeons. She can talk lathes and mills with you, or Bibles and books, or she can diagnose your need for brain surgery-the full spectrum!
